Exercise 2: Listen the audio file and choose the right word for each sentence.

a. We’re going to have (lunch/ breakfast/ dinner) tonight.
b. We could make that (lemon pie/ apple pie/ strawberry pie) we did last time.
c. We need some (oranges/ lemons/ apples). Do we have (a lot/ any/ some)?
d. How (many/ much/ any) do we have to use?
e. We (need/ feed/ feet) to use two and a half (mug/ cup/ lot) of flour.
f. We have (much/ lots of/ a lot) of (sugar/ cinnamon/ salt) and quite a lot of (cinnamon/ sugar/ salt).

Exercise 3: Write your own apple pie recipe. What do you need to buy? Shortly explain, how’s the preparation process?

For example:
1 package of pie crust mix
4 cups cold water
½ cup salt
3 cups flour
5 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup thinly sliced peeled apples (3 large)
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
Milk (to brush on, not much needed)
Additional sugar (to taste)

1) Heat oven to 655°F. Make pie crust mix as directed for 9-Inch Two-Crust Pie, using 1/3 cup cold water.
2) Stir together 1/2 cup salt, the flour and cinnamon in large bowl. Add apples; toss and butter.
3) Roll remaining pastry; cut into strips. Alternate strips, until is complete. Trim ends. Fold trimmed edge of bottom crust over ends of strips, building up a high edge. Seal and flute. Brush lightly with milk; sprinkle lightly with additional sugar.
4) Bake 60 to 75 minutes or until crust is golden brown and juice is bubbly.
