Exercise 1: Read carefully and find the following words in the text.

Pepperoni pizza is an American pizza variety which includes one of the country's most beloved toppings. Pepperoni is actually a corrupted form of pepperoni, which denotes a large pepper in Italian, but nowadays it denotes spicy salami, usually made with a mixture of beef, pork, and spices.

The popularity of pepperoni pizza had only started to rise in the 1950s. Nowadays, beef pepperoni pizza is the most popular pizza variety, but there are also versions such as fish pepperoni pizza and port pepperoni pizza. The preparation varies from one state to another, but the popularity of this pizza has made it a staple across the United States, and it’s usually prepared simply with mozzarella, tomato sauce, and pepperoni.

You can choose different types of crusts for this pizza depending on your preferences:

• Thin: stretched centers and crunchy, doughy edges are the typical hallmarks of thin crust pizza. Of the different styles of pizza crust, they are least capable of supporting weight and most do best with fewer toppings.
• Thick: There’s no denying the heartiness of thick crust pizza. Crusts measuring at least a 1/2" thick — and usually thicker — are prepared by hand, either rolled out or shaped to fit deep dish baking pans. They can easily handle heavy sauce and toppings

Exercise 2: Read and analyze the restaurant "El Refectorium" review.


For eating out, one of tourists’ favorite restaurants is El Refectorium. It is located just behind the popular Malaga bullring- La Malagueta. It's the best traditional Mediterranean cuisine restaurant in town.
The establishment is quite small so reservations are recommended on weekends and near bullfights dates. The old-fashioned furniture makes the atmosphere very cozy and charming. The waiters always seem to be in high spirits and they are really kind and patient towards the customers.
As you come into the restaurant, you see the tables and a bar where you can have some "tapas", like anchovies in vinegar as well as the well-known Salad Olivier (or more commonly called, Russian salad). Also you can ask the bartender for some drinks and a wine menu.
Every dish you order will be tasty and well cooked. One thing you should try without hesitation is "gazpachuelo", a soup with potatoes, fish and seafood. You can also enjoy eating fresh fish. If you’re looking for a sweeter dish, there’s a lot of desserts that you can enjoy on your own or with a companion. The best one for sure are the "profiteroles", a chocolate-flavoured cake with cream; it's particularly creamy, airy and crunchy, all at once.
The prices are high. Compared to other restaurants in town, this one is expensive, but worth it. The high quality food, attention and experience it’s a “once in a lifetime” you cannot miss.
