Exercise 1

Use the simple past tense to conjugate the verbs in parentheses and fill in the blanks in the following story.

  1. Yesterday I (wake up) when my alarm (ring).
  2. My mom (get up) very quickly. And then she (call) me to have breakfast.
  3. I (eat) cereal and (drink) a glass of milk.
  4. Then I (take) a shower very quickly and put my clothes on. I (choose) a nice t-shirt and some neat jeans my aunt (buy) me last holidays.
  5. My dog (run) towards me when he (see) me and I (feed) him.
  6. After that, I (hear) Dad calling me. He (ask) me if I (know) all my lessons for school. I (tell) him that I (study) them well, and then he   (drive) me to school.
  7. He (give) me some money to buy lunch. I (take) it and then I (say) thanks.
  8. At school I (find) a love letter inside my locker. A secret admirer (send) it to me. I (read) it and it (say) I (be) the most handsome boy in the school, and that certainly (make) feel great about myself.
