Exercise 1

Read the following text aloud carefully and answer the questions below.

 

Who is she? What will she do? What is going to happen?

On Sunday, Ashley will be two years old. Ashley's parents are going to have a birthday party. The party is going to start at noon on Sunday. Many relatives and friends will be at the party. Ashley will have so much fun! Ashley's dad is going to cook hamburgers. Ashley’s grandmother is going to bring ice-cream. Ashley's aunt is going to bake a cake. It will be a chocolate cake. Ashley will love her cake! All of Ashley's relatives will bring presents and gifts. Ashley is going to open her presents after lunch. Then, everyone will eat cake and ice-cream. Ashley is going to have a good first birthday!

  1. How old will Ashley be on Sunday? What time is her party going to start?

  1. Who is going to bake the cake? What kind of cake will it be?

  1. When is Ashley going to open her presents? What will happen then?


Exercise 2

Have you thought about your future? Do you have short or long term plans? Do you think you can predict who will win the next soccer world cup? Use what you have learned so far and make a list of 10 plans, promises and predictions that you have for the future, from the remainder of this year, next, or the next 5. Follow the example:
  • I will learn English next year.
  • Me and my friends are going to travel to Hawaii on next month.
