Excersise 1

Complete the sentences using may/might and the words in parentheses.


1. Don’t forget to take your umbrella! (it / rain / later)

2. The baby is sleeping. Don’t make noise! (you / wake up / the baby)

3. Be careful. There’s a dog in that house. (it / bite / you)

4. That letter is not yours. Please give it back to me. (it / have / very important message)

5. Never allow the children to play inside the room. (they / break / expensive stuff and antiques)


Excersise 2

Using may or might, rewrite the following sentences.


1. It’s possible the children are playing outside

2. Maybe she is busy with her work

3. I don’t know if Tiffany wants to be alone

4. It’s possible they have to go home early

5. Perhaps your girlfriend doesn’t want to see you today

6. Maybe the boss isn’t working today


Excersise 3

Complete the sentences using might as well + an appropriate verb.


1. You and your friend missed the bus. The bus runs every hour. You told him: The next bus comes in an hour. (walk)

2. You won a free ticket to the cinema, but you don’t like the movie. You say: (watch the movie)

3. Yesterday you cleaned your room and finished a little early, so you have nothing to do. You said:(clean the kitchen).

4. You and your friend are at home and feet tired. Nobody wants to cook dinner. You tell your friend: (order takeaway).
