Exercise 1

Read the following dialogue aloud, record it and send your teacher. Also answer the following questions after the dialogue.

Man: Tell me about your town!
Woman: My town is a wonderful place to live. It is not expensive, but it is not cheap It is an affordable place to live.
Man: What is the capital city like?
Woman: The city is very pretty. The streets are clean and only a few places are dirty. The park is really green and beautiful. Most buildings are short, so we have great views of the tall mountains.
Man: How are the people at your work?
Woman: The people are nice and friendly, but most people are very busy. People here are not lazy at all. Everyone works very hard. Some people are vain though. They worry about fashion too much.
Man: How is the food here?
Woman: The food here is very delicious, and it is very healthy. It is easy to get fat, but most people are fit because they are so busy.
Man: What is your apartment like?
Woman: My building is a nice place to live. It is on a very quiet street, but my neighbor is very noisy. He is very strange.
Man: Why do you say that?
Woman: He is very moody. Some days he is nice. Some days he is mean. He is really old, and I am young, so maybe that is the problem. Still, I am jealous of him. He has a nice dog. I want a dog. I feel lonely sometimes, and a dog can make me happy.
